We are situated just 3 miles south west of Lowestoft on the B1384, just off the Lowestoft to Norwich road A146.  There are signposts from Oulton Broad and in Carlton Colville itself.

On the A12 Ipswich to Great Yarmouth  road we are clearly signposted from South Lowestoft Industrial Estate roundabout (near the drive-through McDonalds).

From Lowestoft Bus Station

Service 102 operates every 20 minutes Monday to Saturday, hourly on Sunday from 0940, stopping at Carlton Colville School. The museum is approximately a 10 minute walk.

Service X2 Lowestoft to Norwich operate every half hour Mondays to Saturdays stopping at Carlton Colville Crown PH for the museum. On Sundays service X2 has a limited service departing Norwich 0950, 1150 and 1350, returning at 1239, 1439 and 1639. From Lowestoft departures are 1023, 1223 and 1423, returning 1247, 1447, 1647 and 1847. The walk up Chapel Road takes around 5 minutes.

The nearest station to the museum is Oulton Broad South which is on the East Suffolk Line from Ipswich to Lowestoft.

Trains along this line are not very frequent, about every two hours, and the station is around 40 minutes walk away.  It may be best to travel to Lowestoft Railway Station and connect with one of the bus services above. Services X2 and 102 both stop opposite the main station entrance near McDonalds.

There are regular train services to Lowestoft Railway Station from Norwich at approximately hourly intervals on Mondays to Saturdays and 2 hourly on Sundays.  These trains stop at Oulton Broad North station, but we do not recommend that you alight there as this is at least an hour's walk to the museum.  Alight at Lowestoft and connect with a bus as detailed above.
